Shichi-Go-San is a traditional Japanese celebration held annually in November to pray for the healthy growth and well-being of children aged three, five, and seven. We are so happy and grateful to be able to celebrate these important milestones with you at Shofuso, where you can find a touch of Japan right in the heart of Philadelphia! In celebration of Shichi Go San becoming a regular part of Shofuso programming, we’re offering special pricing for 2024! Every package includes a family admission to Shofuso and venue fee, an in-house kimono rental, kimono dressing, a koi feeding activity, a chitose ame bag, a 30 minute mini session, 5 digital images and a private online image gallery. You can customize your package by adding additional images, upgraded rental kimono, hair and makeup or heirloom quality print products. We want every service available to you in Japan to be available right here in the US! Hair, makeup and photography will be provided by Kyami or KiraKira Artistry and Kimono dressing will be provided by professional kimono dresser, Tamiko Laincz.

KiraKira Artistry は、2012年に日本の京都で、費用が高額なために着物の着付けから撮影までを含む総合的な体験ができない大学生のために始められたボランティア活動です。2024年12月に開始する予定のKiraKira Artistry は、海外在住の日本国籍者と日本にルーツを持つ個人で、重要な節目のイベントを着物で祝う機会を持てない人への推薦を、個人や慈善団体から受け付け始めます。私たちの目標は、着物文化へのアクセスを増やし、成人の日や七五三などの伝統的な行事への参加を促進することで、着物文化をさらに広めることです。 毎年、推薦された2人には、ヘアメイク、着物レンタル、着付け、撮影、レタッチ、プライベートオンラインギャラリー、および10枚の高解像度デジタルファイルが含まれた撮影に必要なすべてが含まれたパッケージが提供されます。また、選ばれた人には、追加の写真や家族向けの着物レンタル・着付けサービス、写真商品を特別料金で提供します。

pro bono, Full-Service Photo Experiences for Japanese Nationals and People of Japanese Heritage
Begin by selecting one of the packages shown above in our event pamphlet, ensuring you choose the package that includes all of the services you wish to reserve. Saturday bookings are reserved for children booking hair and makeup services, while Sunday is available for everyone. Once you've made your decision, you can go directly to Shofuso's website and select from the available time slots. Once you've secured your reservation, Kyami will be in touch to walk you through the day of the event and ensure we're well prepared to create a memorable day for your child!

The selected nominee will receive our most popular photoshoot package, which includes hair and makeup, kimono rental and styling, a photoshoot, an instant reveal of their images for selection, 10 professionally retouched digital images, and access to a private online gallery (a value of $1250+). Additionally, they will be offered special pricing on kimono rental and dressing for family members, as well as on additional images and heirloom print products to help commemorate their special event.

We accept nominations year-round on a rolling basis. While Seijinshiki and Shichi Go San are traditionally celebrated in January and November, many prefer to take commemorative photos during the warmer months. Submissions are reviewed every six months, and as we can only accept two nominees per year, we will announce when the available slots have been filled.
